RADD, The Entertainment Industry’s Voice for Road Safety, held its annual Spirit Awards at the Belasco Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on Wednesday, September 14. The Awards are bestowed upon individuals and organizations who support efforts to educate citizens of the dangers of impaired driving and bring an end to injuries and deaths among young drivers.
Toyota Motor Sales USA unveiled the new custom wrapped “RADD Scion” 2012 Scion xB, complete with an Alpine premium audio and navigation system, at the event. The vehicle was donated to serve the RADD Crew at UC Irvine to provide both a means of transport to outreach events and as a mobile billboard to spread RADD’s message of safety and responsibility. “Driving the message of responsible road safety to RADD campuses across California is one more example of Toyota’s commitment to reducing the rate of fatalities and crashes among young drivers.” – Michael Rouse, Toyota’s VP Philanthropy and Community Affairs.
The event concluded a fruitful two-year grant cycle centered on college communities across the state of California. RADD President Erin Meluso showed his gratitude to all honorees, “Thanks to their generosity, we’ve formed a circle of safety – committed colleges, responsible venues, regulators and traffic safety advocates – working together to reduce DUIs and further California’s vision of Toward Zero Deaths on state roads.”
RADD is a globally distinguished non-profit organization that supports media partners, celebrities and socially conscious proponents in creating positive attitudes about road safety.
