The 10 young entrepreneurs who were chosen as finalists for the Scion Motivate competition represent small businesses in a variety of different industries. We’re continuing our series of posts examining the winners by taking an in-depth look at two more of the contestants who received $10,000, partnering with a mentor, and a brand new Scion car through the Scion Motivate competition – Jeff P. of MHM gear, and Kate B. of WONDERHEADS.
Jeff P. – MHM
Jeff P. grew up in the small town of Golden, Colorado and was introduced to the outdoors before he could even walk. He started competitively snowboarding at age ten, which became his passion in life. In 2004, he decided to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder to pursue competitive snowboarding at the college level. He was placed on the CU Snowboard Team and spent most of his college experience traveling and competing with his team in slopestyle and halfpipe events. He led the team as captain for three years, brought back two national championships and was honored as a First Team All-American his senior year in 2009. After graduation he decided to make a career out of my passion for the outdoors and started designing technical outdoor packs which led to the creation of his company, MHM.
