Our series of posts looking back on the 10 winners of Scion Motivate continues this week with Philip G. of Notes for Notes, and Tobi A. from Bushakan. Although both of their small businesses cater to wildly varying niches, both Philip and Tobi left the Scion Motivate judges impressed with the careful planning that went into their companies, and the hard work they’ve put in to make them as successful as they’ve already become.
Philip G. – Notes for Notes

Notes for Notes is all about music, and most importantly, the relationships that develop through music and collaboration. Their studios are located inside Boys & Girls Clubs in Nashville, TN and Santa Barbara, CA and are coming soon to Detroit and Los Angeles.

Tobi A. – Bushakan
Tobi’s long-term passion for design led him to study Architecture, where he discovered the joy of making. While he appreciates working at large scales, he finds it very fulfilling making products that are accessible to a wider audience. He is particularly interested in the use of digital fabrication tools to work with natural materials. Through Bushakan he hopes to have a positive impact on his local community in San Francisco
