We’re continuing our coverage of the Scion Motivate program with a look at two more of the 10 young entrepreneurs who won career mentoring, $10,000, and a new Scion car. William T. of Icaru5 is a documentarian from Chicago who has used the medium of film to give voice to non-profit organizations. Conversely, Baltimore based Reed G. uses her Roaming Republic boutique as a storefront for import accessories that support sustainability and Fair Trade values.
William T. – Icaru5
William is a 23 year old documentary filmmaker from Chicago, Illinois. He attended the University of Notre Dame where he studied economics and film. Upon graduating in 2012, William took a position in data analytics consulting. For the past year, however, he has actively pursued opportunities that combine his two passions: filmmaking and humanitarian outreach. Consequently, William started Icaru5, a documentary production company that gives nonprofits a narrative and tax dollars context.

Reed G. – Roaming Republic
Reed G. is a Baltimore native. She graduated with an Art degree from a small liberal arts college in Maryland and, after graduation, moved to Australia. While there, she discovered her love of travel. She spent years working on a business plan that would allow her to fuse her love of art and travel together in a tangible way. She is a hard-working multi-tasker, working three jobs to make ends meet. Reed is also driven, optimistic, and a firm believer that everything happens for a reason.
