For this week’s edition of What’s Featured at Scion, we brought out three of our favorite cars – the Five Axis Edition Scion FR-S, Scion iQ, and the 1:1 scale HPI Racing Scion xB Switch. We’ve previously featured a few cars that were built by Five Axis, including the xB DJ 2.0 and Five Axis tC Concept Car, but the these two are the first that are available to purchase through your local Scion dealership.
The Five Axis Edition Scion FR-S features new design cues that were inspired by the Scion FR-S Concept Car, also built by Five Axis, that are incorporated through a four-piece aero kit. The front lip and side skirts combine to make the FR-S’ stance even more aggressive, while the side spats on the rear bumper extends the design elements to the back of the car. The trunk spoiler rounds out the pieces included in the Five Axis Edition FR-S, completing the car’s unique look.
Like the FR-S, the Five Axis Edition Scion iQ also uses a four-piece aero kit to give the 3+1 hatchback a distinctive look. The kit lowers the front bumper and side skirts, adding sharper lines to the iQ while still flowing with its natural body lines. An extended rear spoiler extends the iQ’s roofline and gives the car a sportier appearance.
Finally, HPI Racing’s RC cars are typically 1:10 scale, but the HPI Racing Scion xB Switch mixes things up by being created in full 1:1 scale. The xB, which was built by our friends at MV Designz, includes body pins and a special antenna to give the car an authentic RC car feel. Inside the trunk, a slide-out work station has been outfitted with spare parts and tools to make quick repairs and modifications to your HPI Racing RC car. Polishing off the look, the HPI Racing Scion xB Switch also features a Five Axis aero kit, like the other two cars featured this week.
We’ve got something special in store for next week’s lineup, so be sure to check back in to see What’s Featured at Scion!
