Joey Garfield is a Chicago-based director and writer. In 2008, Saatchi & Saatchi named Joey to their Cannes New Director Showcase for his RJD2 music video, "Work It Out." The video was also featured in Pitchfork Media's Top 50 Videos of 2007 and presented Joey the honor of receiving Swerve's Emerging Director award. His feature-length documentary, Breath Control: The
History Of The Human Beat Box, has won several awards and has been screened worldwide. Other documentary works of note are Style Wars II, Upper Playground's The Run Up and Beautiful Losers,where Joey provided personal footage, shot interstitial segments, and consulted. He has directed videos for Aesop Rock, Airborn Audio, Kid Sister and Langhorne Slim, and commercials for Sprite, MTV2, Axe, and Ford.
