2 Makes 1is a stop-motion animation based on the core human emotions of love, betrayal, inspiration, and then, redemption. With a refined, minimal style, artist Kenji Hirata plays with the layers of understanding and the complexities that make up relationships between people in their everyday lives. The colorful characters are inspired by Hirata's real-life experiences as he is guided by the Buddhist belief that emptiness is everything eternal.

Soundtrack features the track "Triassic" by Cloud Peach.

Kenji Hirata is a New York-based painter from Nagasaki, Japan. His work attempts to reveal something deep within the spirit of things. As an original member of the Barnstormers artist collective, Hirata has created large-scale public mural paintings in New York, Miami, and the rural town of Cameron, NC. Hirata is an artist who creates work in an impressive variety of situations, from huge, colorful, public murals, to smaller canvasses and animated works for film. Both his solo and collaborative works have made him a well-respected, innovative, and important member of the New York art and film community.
