Safety

tC: THE SUPER PROTECTOR.
Economical, reliable, safe. These three key elements of the tC are evident in virtually every aspect of the car. Take, for example, the main component of its passive collision protection system: a supplemental restraint system that utilizes sensors in the front airbags to detect a frontal collision.

What else? An Antilock Braking System (ABS), front seat belt pre-tensioners and 3-point anchor seat belts for all five seats help to ensure that you and your passengers don't go anywhere you don't intend to.

The exterior panels of the tC make up the rigid body shell that doubles as an impact absorbing structure. The passenger compartment is designed with reinforced cross and side members that are laid out horizontally. This helps distribute crash impact forces to the vehicle's upper body and throughout the entire body structure.

And, side curtain airbags for the front and rear seats are standard to protect your upper torso and head from

All of these elements make the tC a true road warrior.

FOR THE LONG RUN
There's nothing like a warranty for total peace of mind. Scion will back you up with these Limited Coverages:

BASIC COVERAGE
All components other than normal wear and maintenance items are covered for 36 months/36,000 miles.

POWERTRAIN COVERAGE
Your engine, transmission/transaxle, front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, seatbelts and air bags are covered for 5 years/60,000 miles. Rust-Through Coverage: Corrosion perforation of sheet metal is covered for 60 months/unlimited miles.

FEDERAL EMISSION COVERAGE
Components under the federal emission defect warranty are covered for 36 months/36,000 miles and specified major emission control components are covered for 8 years/80,000 miles. Specified major emission control components under emission performance warranty are also covered for 8 years/80,000 miles. In addition, emission performance warranty is applicable for 24 months/24,000 miles in states and local jurisdictions that require a periodic EPA-approved inspection and maintenance program.

CALIFORNIA EMISSION CONTROL COVERAGE
In California and any other state that adopts California emission warranty provisions, performance warranty and defect warranty coverage is applicable for 36 months/50,000 miles, and specific control devices are covered for 7 years/70,000 miles.

Accessories installed at the time of the new vehicle purchase are covered for 36 months/36,000 miles, from the vehicle's in-service date, whichever occurs first, under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Accessories installed by the dealer after the new vehicle purchase are covered for 12 months, regardless of mileage, from the accessory installation date, or the remainder of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty, whichever provides greater coverage. Accessories purchased over-the-counter are covered for 12 months from the date of purchase. Car covers are warranted for 12 months from the purchase date and are not covered by the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE
You may be eligible for transportation assistance if your vehicle is required to be kept overnight for warrantable repairs. Please see your authorized Scion dealership for further details.

AM/FM/CD + iPod Capability

Every tC comes standard with a 160 watt maximum Pioneer Stereo and these features:

Six speakers: two tweeters, plus full-range speakers in each door panel. It really stands apart because of features like Scion Sound Processing (SSP), which can be tuned to the individual acoustic characteristics of xB, xD, or tC.

A standard iPod connector so that an iPod navigated from the Pioneer controls on the head unit. An AUX port lets you connect alternative digital audio players. tC's center console has a special built-in pocket designed to hold any iPod or Nano. Automatic Sound Levelizer (ASL), Sound Retouch (SRT), MP3, WMAÂ®, and AAC capability, and a programmable welcome message round out the big features.

All Scions offer available coast-to-coast satellite radio coverage with the accessory satellite radio tuner, antenna, and paid monthly Sirius or XM subscription. Scion's standard Pioneer audio system delivers excellent sound reproduction with a wide range of features.

Pioneer Premium Audio System

It's got all the same features as the standard Pioneer system: a standard iPod connector and an AUX port for alternative digital music players, six speakers (two tweeters and a full-range speaker in each door panel), Automatic Sound Levelizer (ASL), Sound Retouch (SRT), and MP3, WMA, and AAC capability. And Scion Sound Processing (SSP) can be tuned to the individual acoustic characteristics of xB, xD, or tC, plus a fourth setting built in for owners who add external amps to the Premium system. All Scions offer available coast-to-coast satellite radio coverage with the accessory satellite radio tuner, antenna, and paid monthly Sirius or XM subscription.

Pioneer's Premium audio lets you download images and video to play on the OEL faceplate display.

Pioneer's Premium audio includes the same features as the standard audio system.

Scion Navigation System

The Scion Navigation System, aka SNS, is a six-speaker 160-watt max power audio/video/nav system that combines a wide range of Alpine audio technologies with a sophisticated GPS navigation system. Major functions are handled with large control buttons placed along the outer frame, backlit in blue. The system's also got a seven-inch-wide LCD touchscreen. To reduce glare, just adjust the tilt to suit the ambient light conditions in the car. Tilt it all the way and you've got access to the DVD and CD players placed behind it.

SNS can play conventional CDs as well as CDs ripped with MP3, WMA®, and AAC files. Like all three 2008 Scion audio systems, there is iPod® and alternative digital audio players connectivity. Scion's accessory sat radio receivers will, too. All you've got to do is choose between XM and Sirius.
