When it launched in 1999, Creative Capital reinvented arts philanthropy, integrating grants and career development services to support adventurous projects through long-term partnerships with artists. In its first decade, Creative Capital has advanced the careers of 411 artists through financial support and advisory services, and has reached over 2,200 additional artists through its Professional Development Program in workshops across the country. As the premiere national artist support organization, Creative Capital is committed to the principal that time and advisory services are as crucial to artistic success as funding.
Creative Capital supports projects in Emerging Fields, Film/Video, Literature, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts, providing grants to approximately 40 new projects each grant cycle. Over the trajectory of its funded projects, Creative Capital provides artists with a flexible program of multi-faceted, sequential support, and partners with them to determine how those targeted funds and services can best work in concert to progress towards the grantees own goals.
