After growing up in West LA, attending school in Europe and graduating from UCLA, Eklips is still at it with an unforgettable style and flair. In grade school, he was into skateboarding, breakdancing and BMX riding, and started with graffiti art with his homeboy Pure. "It was kind of about just being a juvenile," he says. Eklips is rumored to have started both the AWR (Angels Will Rise) and MSK (Mad Suckers Kneel) crews when he was only 14 years old.
Eklips recently started Seventh Letter, an urban focused clothing company out of West LA, which he calls the "mecca of everything," and isn't worried about going a little commercial with his ventures. "Underground is a thing of the 80s," he says, "So is selling out. It just doesn't exist any more."
With a six-year-old daughter who's quickly becoming a visual artist in her own right, Eklips has gained a higher level of maturity these days with a focus on good art and good life.
