Futura got his start in the urban art scene in the early 1970s bombing the 1, 2, 3 and 5 trains. It wasn't until 1979 that his impact on the urban art world was felt when he brought urban artists to the art world as he created an avenue for graf artists to pursue careers as professional artists at Esses Studios. Today Futura is considered one of the top cultural influencers of his time. In 2000 he released a self-titled book that displays his artistic visions from hip hop art to posters for The Clash to his legendary Mo Wax record sleeves.
