Born September 27, 1971 in Los Angeles, Krush's initial exposure to Graffiti Art came from seeing the movies "Beat Street" and "Wild Style" and discovering the book Subway Art. Immediately drawn to the colorful, vibrant medium of spray paint and the various forms of lettering developed in New York City, he became influenced by a type of lettering called the "wildstyle." Inspired by artists such as Seen, Futura, Lee and Dondi, he practiced for hours trying to emulate what he saw while developing his own original style, as he knew he would never achieve any respect duplicating somebody else's artwork. In 1986/1987, Krush embarked on his first trip to the now legendary Pan Pacific, Pico Yard and Jefferson Yard, which exposed him to L.A. graffiti artists such as Riot, Flame and Risk. Around this time, he met fellow writers Rage and Wise, and in 1988 all three we're invited to join a prominent LA crew KSN (Kings Stop at Nothing.)
Being part of KSN allowed Krush to learn from some of the best writers of late 80s Los Angeles. He began to develop complicated letter forms that intertwined and connected with balance and originality. In 1990, close friends Sumet and Tyke introduced Krush to Eklips, and he was invited to join the infamous AWR/"Angels will Rise" Crew. This crew had a pivotal effect on Krush. "Everybody learned from each other's strengths, and the whole crew was rocking some of the best pieces at the time," he explains. To this day, AWR still has some of the best writers on the street, and, along with it's brother crew MSK, continues to move graffiti into the future. In 2004, Krush continues to paint walls, works as a graphic designer with Los Angeles firm 71Designteam and spends his spare time making music. "Art and music have allowed me to see the world with a different perspective, to appreciate the laws of nature to continue to develop my soul".
