Michele Abbate, driver of the Dynamic Autosports 2011 Scion Racing tC, gives us the recap from Round 2 of the Moto IQ held on July 28 & 29 at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California:
This past weekend our team showed an amazing amount of improvement both on and off the track. Eddie and Eugene of Dynamic Autosports/Gruppe-S dialed the car in perfectly for this event. The new set up on the KW suspension was killer along with an amazing TRD brake set up. Our tC always puts down smooth power with its GReddy turbo set up, but this round we were equipped with some mean Hankook Z214s that really let us get our lap times quicker.
Saturday we pulled off an impressive 1:56 during the race after qualifying 3rd and finishing 2nd overall, even without any practice! We had a late start after the drop of the green flag but battled our way through the field completely out braking just about every car. This gave me a good understanding of our strengths and weaknesses on the track.
On Sunday I was even hungrier for the win. I wanted to do everything we could to get us in the lead. We qualified 2nd, so we were on the outside for the start of the race. Keeping the other competitors in our class behind me, I was determined to focus my concentration on first. We put up an awesome battle and laid down even faster lap times than Saturday and we finished 2nd overall, having a great race.
This past weekend was one of the best race weekends I’ve had…WE’VE had! The Dynamic Autosports/Gruppe-S Scion Racing tC performed flawlessly and we made a huge impression on our competition. We gradually get faster each event and I know with a bit more testing we will come out on top. We have a competitive car and an even stronger team, I’m excited to see what Round 3 at Infineon Raceway brings. It is one of my most favorite tracks and I can’t wait to put up a fight for the win! As always I’d like to thank Scion Racing, Dynamic Autosports, KW Suspensions, Hankook Tire, GReddy, Wedsport, Mishimoto, Seibon, and all our followers for their support!
