The Scion Racing drivers participate in a wide variety of disciplines, ranging from road and rally to drag and drift. Although each varies wildly and requires its own unique skillset, the teams’ shared love of motorsports helps bring them together. On Tuesday, August 28th, all of them gathered at Willow Springs International Raceway in Rosamond, California for the second annual Scion Racing Track Day.
Tony Angelo, Ken Gushi, and Fredric Aasbo were coming off of a big weekend in Las Vegas, where Fredric took second place at the Formula Drift event. Michele Abbate and her team, who were also at the event as spectators, were coming in from Vegas as well. Meanwhile, Andrew Comrie-Picard, Chris Rado, Scott Kelley, and Takeshi Aizawa all took advantage of breaks in their schedule to meet up with their Scion Racing teammates.
The drivers spent the day at Willow Springs both getting re-acquainted with one another after a long break, and taking advantage of a rare opportunity to have some fun on the track without any of the pressure that comes with competing for a spot on the podium.
