An entire offseason spent revamping the Scion Racing Rally xD paid off on Saturday, when driver Andrew Comrie-Picard and co-driver Jeremy Wimpey earned 1st place in the 2WD class at the Sno*Drift National Rally. The team was dominant from the start, as ACP jumped out to an early lead and continued to build on it throughout the race. In fact, the team’s performance was so strong that the Scion Racing Rally xD won 17 of the rally’s 20 stages outright, and shared wins on 2 others.
ACP submitted an impressive time of 2:50:57.5, which was over 5 minutes quicker than the 2nd place car. The finish gave the Scion Racing Rally xD team their first ever win at Sno*Drift, and more importantly, put the team in pole position in the chase for the Rally America 2WD Championship. With the first round of the season in the books, ACP and the crew have made a strong case for being the team to beat for the rest of the 2013 season.
After taking some time to enjoy their victory, the team will be headed back to the shop to get the car turbocharged for Round 2 at Rally in the 100 Acre Wood.
