Scion Racing Rally xD driver Andrew Comrie-Picard and co-driver Jeremy Wimpey continued their tear through the Rally America 2WD class, as they took home another 1st place finish at the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood. The team submitted a time of 2:14:57.8, over 2 minutes better than the next closest competitor in their class, and good for 7th overall at the event.
The team once again ran a nearly flawless race, although they did encounter a few minor issues. A series of sharp rocks managed to puncture a hole in one of the Rally xD’s tires, and the 100 Acre Wood’s rough terrain also delivered some damage in the form of a bent rear beam. Though the latter had ACP arriving at the car’s first service a bit sideways, the team was able to patch up the damage and have the car back on the trail.
With two straight wins to start the 2013 Rally America season, the Scion Racing Rally xD crew has firmly established themselves as the team to beat in the 2WD class. The team has a couple of months off to relax and get their car in shape, but they’ll be ready to go for the start of the Oregon Trail Rally on May 3rd.
