André was born in Sweden in 1971. He appropriated walls at a young age. "When I was small I was allowed to draw on the walls of the house and at school too. When I arrived in Paris in 1981, it was obvious; the street became my school, my studio. Doing graffiti is a way to take possession of the city rather than succumbing to it."

A night owl by choice and necessity, André draws on city walls across the globe armed with spray cans. Mr. A is his leitmotif.For André, graffiti is a forbidden act where the action counts as much as the result. Finished graffiti no longer belongs to him, it exists on its own and belongs to passers-by, delivering itself freely to all.

André lends his services to those in love with his "Love Graffiti’s" : much like a public writer, André can be commissioned to graffiti the name of a loved one on the wall facing their home, in giant, loved-infused pink typography. Each "Love Graffiti" is then photographed and delivered as a certificate or testament of the ephemeral declaration.

André also runs the two trendiest clubs in Paris : Le Baron and Le Paris Paris… the places to see and be seen in the capital.
