The Scion FR-S Takes on the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race 22 April 2013, 11:00 am

The Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race has long been one of our favorite events, thanks in no small part to the presence we’ve had at the race during the last few years. Current and former Scion Racing drivers including Ken Gushi, Fredric Aasbo, Tanner Foust, and Bucky Lasek have all taken part in the TPCR’s Professional class, with Ken and Fredric both taking home victories in 2011 and 2012 respectively.

Although none of our drivers were entered into this year’s edition of the TPCR, we still managed to help Toyota Racing prepare for the event as Ken Gushi was selected to introduce the Scion FR-S as the official car of the series earlier this year. Ken, of course, made a fitting choice for the role, as he was also the first person to campaign an FR-S in any form of motorsports. If you missed the walkthrough video he filmed for Toyota Racing, be sure to catch it below.

That said, we still had a great time at the 2013 Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, and we enjoyed seeing the race-spec TPCR Scion FR-S make its way through 10 laps of Streets of Long Beach course. Huge congrats go out to Top Gear USA’s Rutledge Wood, who won this year’s Celebrity class, as well as the Pro winner, Adam Carolla. Check out our gallery of photos from the TPCR, and head over to Toyota Racing’s site for more news about the series!
